VWBPE is back...This year we are EPIC!!!

Well, it's been a while since I last posted here. Zillions of little things distracting us... evil multitasking...or happy serendipiting.. shrugs her shloulders.. Who knows? What I know it's that those roads have taken me to new lands, people and more knowledge.  With a content heart we are back in town... and with good news... Virtual World Best Practices in Education is here on a new edition and eventhough I am not presenting there, I will be presenting presenters.. a whole new challenge, yeaah!! So, let me tell you about this year Epic edition of VWBPE 2012. Quoting VWBPE's definition of what Epic is.. Ooopss!!!! Internet service went down. couldn't be there.. but...smiles!

The conference took place last Friday and Saturday..I have planned to be there..I told my students on Friday morning.. I will be attending this wonderful conference and was really enthusiastic about it but when I got home that day... Surprise!!!!... My Internet service wasn't working.. Spent the rest of the day trying to fix it.. but...It was a terrible disappointment. I could fix it last Sunday afternoon... too late for the fun.. But..there's always a but... smiles.. Thanks to my friend Jokay Wollongong .. I found this great site Tree TV, where you can find some of the best presentations... http://business.treet.tv/shows/bpeducation/episodes . Of course the first thing I did was to watch this one: Presented By Lindy McKeown (Decka Mah in SL) who explains How Action Learning works for staff professional development across organizations , how it narrows the 'Knowing - Doing Gap', and how it relates to Heutagogy , the management of self-managed learners.

ISTE 2010

Last year, Pionia registered to the NECC Ning for ISTE’s conference. Out of curiosity, but this year as they are getting ready for ISTE 2010 conference. She's planning to participate fully in SL. Visiting their new ning, She found out that the ISTE 2010 Conference Ning Network , is where educators interested in educational technology connect to other conference attendees whether they attend physically or virtually to extend the conversations happening at the conference.There she also found this interesting video.     Where she learned about the journey of several educators working and learning in Second Life.
