Image
Blu Heron Well, today Pio had the pleasure to be part of a basic skills building class.. the topic.. Eastern eggs!!! It was fun.. and the best part was to learn from Blu Heron !! She's the best... Did you know she taught Pio a long time ago how to rezz and open boxes... It was a very informal session after an Educator Tools session she conducted. So, this is how we did it... First thing you do when you get to the brewery classes  ( BUILDERS BREWERY Free Building Classes, Textures, Script.) you have to sit on a special area for builders.. each teacher changes the deco every time..it's so cool and creative. After the instructor says hello she gives the first instructions indicating to pick material you will need for the class... Blu Heron shouts: Welcome to Beginners Egg Coloring Activity! this IS for Beginners level 1 - no building experience! If you know your way around the edit window and have some experience building, the Easter baskets class at 1 is bette...

EduNation Housewarming Party

Image
Pio was invited to attend a really special party. The House warming Party at EduNation . But, what's EduNation you might ask yourself.  Well, that's great place for educators and students in SL. There are three EduNation islands and according to what we can read in their wiki, they are focused on the potential for Virtual Worlds (VWs) to enhance the language learning process and is maintained by a community of educators who contribute towards paying for the rent of the islands in Second Life. These islands are owned by Gavin Dudeney, Randall Sadler, Heike Philp and Paul East, educators and visionaries that dedicate their time and resources to provide this virtual space in a not-for-profit manner. So, this Sunday, 12 December 2010, Pio teleported to the first Island: EduNation I , there she participated in he opening of the Webheads HQ . Webheads in Action is a woderful CoP, (Community of Practice). The Webheads are a world-wide, cross-cultural, and vibrant online-community...

Image
Well, this time.. Pionia was invited to go on a tour to Chichen Itza in Mexico by the The Avalon Learning Project , what she didn't know is that she'd ended up being the guide on the tour. This was really funny, she decided to wear her princess Maya outfit and bring her beautiful horse Brujo with her to the tour. It was a good thing that she has been there before with the webheads. Now, this place  has been classed as one of the Seven Wonders in Second Life, the reproduction of Chichén Itza is a jewel of breathtaking jungle exotic and old Aztek ruins. It is a beautiful Summer palace, village and beach relaxation retreats. To go there, just follow the link... http://slurl.com/secondlife/Visit%20Mexico/67/197/28 Accepted the challenge proposed by Gwen Gwasi, she googled some info on this famous maya ruins in Wikipedia (of course), she found out that ....." Merhaba from Turkey

Image
Avalon.. again..invited Pio to go on a tour this time to know more about the Turkish culture.. She must confessed she didn't know much about it. The invitation read: Be a guest in a traditional Turkish home and chat about the country, people, culture and language. Daffodil invites you to a Turkish evening. You will take a culture quiz and while sipping our Turkish tea or coffee, we will talk about interesting facts and stereotypes about Turkey and the Turkish people. You will also learn some useful phrases which you might use during a trip to Turkey. This was the location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Forum%20Europe/128/128/0 Pionia had a lot of fun.. and learn some litle words and expressions...Like:  Merhaba = hello Also, we went through some quiz questions where Daffodil asked us about what we knew of her country. It was a really interesting way to get to know more of the Turkish culture. Our hostess invited us to drink a delicious cup of Turkish coffee. Her...
