VWMOOC2021

The 8th annual event is organized by Drs. Nancy Zingrone, Doris Molero, and Nellie Deutsch. Special guests, Ann Novak and Valerie Hill. 

The theme of the current MOOC is “Connecting in Virtual Worlds. Communities of Practice” There are a plethora of communities in virtual worlds promoting education and learning through connecting online via web technologies such as Second Life. 

VWMOOC21 will focus on connecting online for collaborative learning and teaching around the world through virtual worlds like Second Life, Digiworldz, Kitely, Minecraft, or OpenSim. The live presentations will include the speakers’ reflective process on teaching and learning in fully online and blended learning formats.

The event started in 2014 as Second Life MOOC. It was renamed Virtual Worlds MOOC in 2018. VWMOOC20 will take place from September 1-30, 2021 in CHILBO in Second Life and on Moodle for Teachers https://moodle4teachers.org/course/view.php?id=114

9th Annual Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education will be held on March 9-12, 2016. This year's theme is Horizons. The VWBPE Conference is a completely virtual conference that is conducted using simulated environments. Participants experience the conference through a virtual reality type setting including conference rooms, theatres, exposition halls, meeting spaces, and other types of venues similar to a brick and mortar type conference.
